💥 The end of an era.
And the start of a new one.

It’s been 15 years since I met @jeshderox at one of his first Australian workshops. And he’s been my favourite teacher ever since for more reasons than short form content allows, but mostly because he guides us to deeply remember and embody all of our birthrights: joy, hope, our royal bodies, beauty, honesty, friendship and our imaginations.

Every Kindrêd retreat is a reawakening, a remembering, and a rewiring. It’s deeply healing and magically transformative. Every single time.

This practice and the community that surrounds it has had a profound effect on my life and who I am.

This retreat was Jesh’s final, and at this retreat, he passed the torch to me, @therese_ofthetrees and @katieofarrell to take Kindrêd into a new chapter.

The word honoured doesn’t measure up to how this feels. It’s the greatest invitation I’ve ever received because I know with every cell in my body that this is where I’m meant to be.

Thank you to my Kindrêd friends for another set of beautiful memories, and to @jeremymark1 for endlessly supporting me. Whilst these visuals barely show what Kindrêd is, they capture the feelings, the holiness and the friendship that surrounds the days of deep work.

Thank you for everything you’ve given the world up to now @jeshderox. The best is yet to come. Always adventure.

One of my most important values is EXPERIENCE.

Experience can translate and manifest in lots of different ways but one of them is travel, adventuring and exploring.

It’s a way to learn more about yourself, to play, to find your edges, to learn and experiment.

I fell in love with travel in my early 20s (which is when I first got to do it) and my travels feel less like holidays and more like messy adventures. Which is exactly what I want.

I have two Astro lines crossing through Japan, and my Venus line goes directly through Kyoto (a place I’ve been obsessed with for decades) so I knew this would be an unforgettable trip. And so it was.

My fave things about Japan are:
🇯🇵 The fashion. Effortless layering and comfort fit clothing with simple sizing options and hidden adjustables.
🇯🇵 The food. I ate double what I normally do because I just had to try everything.
🇯🇵 The people. So polite, so respectful, so good at crowd management.
🇯🇵 The convenience and efficiency of everything. Public restrooms, vending machines, umbrella stations, etc etc.
🇯🇵 The design of everything, from gardens to streets to interiors, everything thoughtful and beautiful.

I’m calling bullsh*t on a story that we’re ove

I’m calling bullsh*t on a story that we’re oversold these days, and that is that healing and transformation work is painful.

I believe that within a healthy self-relationship growth can happen in a way that feels good.

What’s actually painful is when you try doing this work without being in friendship with yourself.
 The good news is, your nervous system is also responsive to the presence of self-friendship. It’s just as important as safety and trust, and in fact, they go hand-in-hand.

You can increase the presence of safety in your own body by being a better friend to yourself.

When you’re a good friend to yourself, healing and transformation is more likely to ignite joy, prompt catharsis and feel safe enough to your system that you can move more easefully into newness and change.

Under these circumstances, it feels easier to listen to and trust your intuition and this means that the inevitable feelings of discomfort that occur during transformative processes (ie, when we process difficult emotions, release trauma or make big changes in our daily lives) are less scary and intense. In other words, we are more likely to follow through and do the work we promised ourselves we would do!

I don’t want to get dark, but sometimes it’s the only way to tell the truth.

When I was a small child, I was happy and content. I drew, I danced, I sang, I made things, I read, I had imaginary friends and I made clothes out of flowers for the fairies that lived in my garden.

My whole life was about self expression.

Then at some point, I learnt that real life isn’t that fun.

I was bullied relentlessly for a lot of my school years. My teenaged years were extremely challenging with so many health issues. My 20s were an absolute mess of toxic relationships, self sabotage and terrible mental health. My 30s were marginally better, but also not really.

When I look back, I am amazed I’m here. And not only am I here, but I’m well and content and thriving and I have love and compassion for myself and my life.

What kept me alive?

Creativity and having an outlet to express myself.

Through all the dark times, I always had that and it was something I could always come back to. To give me purpose and passion. And as a result, my life has been very, very full of artistic expression across a massive range of genres and applications.

It was through my creative journey that I began to understand myself. I began to cultivate self-compassion and develop insight and perspective. And that took me deep into self development. And my life is now is all about bringing those two worlds together for you. To create and offer experiences that help you:

⚡️navigate your inner creative world, because we are ALLLLL innately creative
⚡️lean in to courage and purpose
⚡️develop self-compassion and self-acceptance
⚡️strengthen your unique voice & expression
⚡️learn to be guided by your needs and passions
⚡️evolve into your favourite self

Because your experience of your life matters.
